The Work Pool

The Work Pool is a reverse marketplace: a customer posts what they want made, and smiths come to them with quotes. It is the front door to a custom build.

How it flows

  1. A customer posts a request with a title, description, optional budget range and timeline, and attachments (images or a PDF).
  2. Smiths browse open requests at Dashboard → Work Pool and submit a quote (a message, plus an optional price estimate and timeline).
  3. The customer compares quotes side by side, messages makers to discuss, and accepts one. The request moves to In progress, and a commission opens automatically in the winning smith's pipeline with the quoted price.
  4. When the work is done the customer closes the request and can rate the smith; the smith can rate the customer too.

Good to know

  • Requests stay open for 30 days, then expire automatically.
  • Only one quote can be accepted per request.
  • A customer can boost (feature) a request for more visibility.
  • When your quote is accepted, a commission is created for you automatically, with the customer, the request title, and your quoted price filled in. Find it under Dashboard, then Commissions.
  • You must be a verified smith to quote (see Getting verified).
