Trust, verification & Peer Vouch
Every smith has a Trust Score from 0 to 100, shown as a tier badge on their storefront. It is computed from four signals, so no single one can be gamed.
The four ingredients
- Verifications, up to 50 points (identity 25, domain 15, social 10).
- Peer vouches, 5 points each, up to 15.
- Reviews, up to 20 points, from average rating and review count.
- Completed commissions, 3 points each, up to 15.
The total is capped at 100 and maps to a tier:
- New (under 20) · Bronze (20+) · Silver (40+) · Gold (60+) · Platinum (80+)
Verifications
The biggest lever. Each verified type adds to your score:
- Identity (+25), confirm who you are.
- Domain (+15), prove you own your shop’s website (a DNS TXT record).
- Social (+10), connect a social account (Google or Facebook).
Manage these under Dashboard → Verification.
Peer Vouch
A Peer Vouchis one bladesmith publicly endorsing another, a maker-to-maker "I know this smith, their work is the real deal," a web of trust between makers.
- Who can vouch: a logged-in smith whose own shop has at least one verified verification. Unverified accounts cannot vouch.
- How: on a smith’s storefront, use the "Vouch for this smith" button and add an optional note.
- One per pair: you can vouch for a given smith once.
- Revocable: you can remove your own vouch at any time.
- Worth: +5 points each, capped at 15 (three vouches max out this slice).
Vouches are subject to moderation; ones that appear fraudulent or abusive may be removed.
Reviews & commissions
Reviews from real customers contribute up to 20 points (a blend of your average rating and how many reviews you have); flagged reviews do not count. Completed commissions add 3 points each, up to 15, rewarding a track record of finished work.
Raising your score
Start with identity verification (the single biggest jump), connect your domain and a social account, deliver commissions, and earn genuine reviews. Peer vouches from established makers round it out.
