Classes & events
Many makers teach a class, run a workshop, or set up at a knife show. Events let you create one, take registrations, and sell tickets, all through your own payment method. You manage them under Dashboard → Events.
Create an event
Choose New event and set the type, class, workshop, demo, show, or meetup, the date and time, and where it happens. An event can be in person, with an address that shows on a map, or online with a link shared after someone registers.
- Set a capacity, or leave it blank for unlimited.
- Add a cover image and a description so people know what to expect.
- It starts as a draft. Nothing is public until you publish it.
Free RSVP or paid tickets
Every event is one of two kinds. A free RSVP just holds a spot, good for open demos and meetups. A paid ticket carries a price, and you add your own payment link and any instructions, for example an e-transfer address or pay at the door.
Attendees pay you directly through your own method. BladeOS never handles the money, the same as everywhere else on the platform. See the payments article.
Publish it, and where it shows
When you publish, the event appears on the public Classes & events page and in an Upcoming events section on your own storefront, automatically. Buyers can browse by type or find events near them, and add any event to their calendar.
Registrations and QR tickets
Anyone can register with their name and email. They get a QR ticket right away, and you get a notification. Everyone who has signed up shows in the attendee list on the event, with the seats remaining.
At the door
- For a paid event, mark a registration paid once you have received payment. That also records the money in your books, see below.
- Check people in as they arrive, either by tapping Check in in the attendee list, or by scanning their ticket QR with your phone and using the check-in button that appears.
Ticket money in your books
Marking a paid registration paid records that ticket revenue in your Financials under the Events category, so your income stays complete without any extra bookkeeping. Cancelling a paid registration removes it again.
Multi-maker shows
Hosting a show with other makers? Add them as exhibitors on the event. They appear on the public page as Makers at this show, linking to each one’s storefront.
Who pays for what
- Creating and selling events is a paid feature; see the plans article for what your plan includes.
- Browsing events and registering are free for everyone. Your attendees never pay BladeOS to sign up.
